Dream workers are people who actively work with their dreams to improve their lives by understanding the messages they receive from their subconscious in the dream time. Anybody can become a dream worker, it basically involves paying attention to what we dream, and possibly keeping a dream journal.
Dream work goes back centuries and has been used by sages and shamans in all human cultures.
Although dream work is primarily psychological in nature (since it focuses on interpreting the messages of the subconscious) it is also considered highly spiritual as well. Shamans are spiritual leaders and use dream work to help their people by contacting the divine through their dreams. The Bible talks of dream work in the story of Joseph in Egypt.
Dreams are also able to inspire classic art and even financial success.
Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream" is one of the world's most beloved comedies.
"Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll is perhaps the best known children's classic book about dreams.
The novel "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelly was inspired by a waking dream! It was a successful book when it was published in 1818 and had a second edition in published in 1831. It has been in print ever since, not to mention on TV and in the movies. Pretty good for a dream!
Historically, we know that dreams and dream work can have a powerful impact on our lives. Since we spend so much time dreaming, why not put them to work for ourselves -- while we are awake?
